Women In Suits pays homage to architectural academics, translating playing card and tarot deck imagery into symbolic personifications of studio materials.

Each suit is tailored to the qualities embodied by each woman—the Queen of Cubes provides energy and strength; the Queen of Blades represents activity and attention; the Queen of Scales is perceptive and reliable; and the Queen of Pins brings value and joy. Fitting the suit to the woman—and not vice versa—ascribes value to the figure, not the object.

The architectural motif is donned as a literal playing card suit, challenging architecture as a male dominated industry, and figurative power suit: attire which arose as a symbol of equality during Second-Wave Feminism.

Beyond how they shaped my academic and personal life, each woman possesses their own perspective and arc of influence within the college. Their specializations are a token of their individuality, affirming that architecture is a discipline that suits women.
